White-letter Hairstreak - the national situation

Two important books have been published - The Millennium Atlas of Butterflies in Britain & Ireland, covering the recording period of 1995 to 1999 and including historic records was published in 2001 - and in 2006, The State of Butterflies in Britain and Ireland, covering the period 2000-2004.

These two books show quite clearly the known distribution of the White-letter Hairstreak in the UK since record keeping began.
